GS1 Hong Kong’s Consumer Caring Scheme 2014 recognizes 70 local businesses for putting “consumer first”
Hong Kong – December 17, 2014 – GS1 Hong Kong’s “Consumer Caring Scheme 2014 ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Conference and Exhibition Centre on 17 December 2014 to kick off the jubilee celebration of the organization. There were 70 reputable international brands and local SMEs named “Consumer Caring Companies” for their “consumer first” attitude. These companies have become the role model of their industry with excellent quality products and customer service.
First introduced in 2011, the Consumer Caring Scheme aims to recognize companies that enhance consumer satisfaction through leveraging international standards, optimizing the supply chain management, applying information technology and continuing business processes improvement. All participating companies were evaluated against seven core consumer caring values including: consumer care, sincerity, commitment, product quality and safety assurance, service quality, understanding of consumer behaviors, and caring for employees. The judging process comprises company visit, performance evaluation and consumer survey, all of which were conducted in an equitable, credible and professional manner.
At the same time, all applicants’ consumer care measures and performance were assessed according to a scorecard based on the Efficient Consumer Response (ECR), an internationally recognized business best practice aimed to achieve customer satisfaction through collaboration between businesses and trading partners.
"The Consumer Caring Scheme is established to recognize those companies striving for ‘consumer-first’ by offering high quality products and superior customer service,” said Anna Lin, JP, and Chief Executive of GS1 Hong Kong. “With the tremendous support of a number of reputable organizations, we are pleased to endorse ‘Consumer Caring Companies’ from various industries this year. These companies will become a role model aiming to lift product quality and service levels of their industry, which in turn, for a win-win situation between brands and consumers."
